I am aware that I have allowed him to have both me and everything else in his life without having to commit to me, but I want him to come back to me on his own terms because I make him happy enough and make enough effort for him (which he said was lacking from before) and not because i cut off contact and made him desperate. To put a limit though, I said I will only wait around for him until the end of summer (end of august) so that being broken up does not disturb my studies when we are back in school. He is approaching his last year of university, and I do not want him distracted with ex problems as well.

Definitely stick with no contact, and avoid all social media!! It is the worst and if you're anything like me you'll constantly check it for some clue about what's happening now. You'll have a day or half a day where you feel ok again, and that will be the sign you need to know that you'll be back to normal one day. It absolutely sucks at first, but it does make you stronger and wiser. And read these boards whenever you're feeling bad. You'll see that there are a ton of people going through the same thing and that always made me feel kind of normal. Good luck.

I think that making a list would be a good idea... just keep it to yourself so that she thinks you are spontaneous and thoughtful.
