If I were in your shoes and sensed a 'connection' (unclear if you did or not), I'd make my last contact a positive one, inviting him to contact me once settled, and then see what happens at that point. I probably, at my age anyway, wouldn't do the string-along, rather date currently available, local men. I remember hearing a story about a different guy who was a total douchebag. Apparently he used to eat out some girl when he was in college and then she would kick him out of her dorm room when he was done and never did anything to him. I heard that he claimed to have done this to the girl a bunch of times. I don't even think she would walk out in public with him - this all happened in her dorm or apartment. Now that guy was undoubtedly a doormat!
